Career Development
The Career Development committee is tasked with providing its members and the community at large with career enhancement skills. Such projects consist of ICCP training workshops, ICCP study groups, leadership training and job placement referrals. In addition this committee represents the New York Chapter at various career fairs throughout the tri-state area.

Communications
The function of the Communications Committee is to produce our quarterly newsletter the "HUMANWARE ". It involves gathering articles, obtaining advertisements, and editing for final production. Information is obtained from both a local and national level. This committee also maintains our chapter website.

Education
The Education Committee is tasked with providing our membership and our communities with both technical and non technical workshops and seminars on new technology trends as they affect us in today's society.
Responsiblities also include training of our New York student competition team, providing speakers for student events, and liaison to various high schools.

The Program Committee is responsible for organizing and facilitating the monthly program meeting held on the 3rd Thursday of every month. They seek experts from a wide range of Information Technology (IT) and non-IT backgrounds to present their topics to BDPA members and non-members alike.

Finance
The Finance Committee keeps a close watch on the budget of the organization. They help the chapter maximize the use of its funds.

Membership
The Membership Committee keeps our membership database. They also work with various businesses to enhance our member benefits package.

Black Family Technology Awareness Week (BFTAW)
BFTAW is a national public awareness campaign designed to encourage more African Americans to incorporate technology into their daily lives.   The event focuses on closing the digital divide by helping bridge the gap between black families and technology.
