Communications
The function of the Communications Committee is to handle all communications to chapter members and non-members, utilizing email, the chapter and national website, and various social media.

Education
The Education Committee is tasked with providing our membership and our communities with both technical and non technical workshops and seminars on new technology trends as they affect us in today's society.
Responsiblities also include training of our New York student competition team, providing speakers for student events, and liaison to various high schools.

The Program Committee is responsible for organizing and facilitating the monthly program meeting held monthly. They seek experts from a wide range of Information Technology (IT) and non-IT backgrounds to present their topics to BDPA members and non-members alike.

Finance
The Finance Committee keeps a close watch on the budget of the organization. They help the chapter maximize the use of its funds.

Black Family Technology Awareness Week (BFTAW)
BFTAW is a national public awareness campaign designed to encourage more African Americans to incorporate technology into their daily lives.   The event focuses on closing the digital divide by helping bridge the gap between black families and technology.
